Polls, Polls and more Polls

I have been incessantly reloading fivethirtyeight.com and realclearpolitics.com to see the news polls that have been posted. I’m trying to reduce my anxiety as we head into the final 6 days of the presidential election.

I haven’t actually voted yet. Rochelle and I are going to fill out our ballots tomorrow and drop them off at a polling place. I have to do some more research on some of the propositions to make up my mind.

Here is my current ballot:

City/Local

  1. LACC Board of Trustees – Seat 1 – Andra Hoffman (why? incumbent)
  2. LACC Board of Trustees – Seat 3 – David Vela (why? incumbent)

  4. LACC Board of Trustees – Seat 7 – Mike Fong (why? icumbent)
  5. State Senator – 27th District – Henry Stern (Democrat)

  7. US Representative – 30th District – Brad Sherman (Democrat)
  8. LAUSD – Measure RR – No ($360/year increase in property taxes)

State

  • Proposition 14 (Stem Cell Research) – Yes (why? CA should lead if the feds can’t)
  • Proposition 15 (Property Tax) – ??? (why? this is a tough one. Prop 13 needs to be changed, but not sure this is the right way)

  • Proposition 23 (Dialysis Clinic) – No (why? proposition as a labor dispute)
  • Proposition 24 (Consumer Personal Information) – No (why? ugh, proposition)
  • Proposition 25 (Cash Bail) – Yes (why? I don’t like cash bail)

National

  • President/Vice President – Joe Biden/Kamala Harris (why? NOT TRUMP)
